A different approach
Attach a 3/4 piece of material using 1 inch nails to the underside of the 2 x 4 of the left hand side and run it through a thickness planer it will get what would appear to be the bevel that you are looking for. If not 3/4 inch then the amount of material that you need to take off the top.

Thanks to everyone for advise/suggestions. I got the parts sanded. They look good. I will try to check out the assembly I am making and find out if the angle captured and used was any good:D

Well I got done with the project that brought on this discussion, I will post that in new thread with pics, and have now addressed the band saw issues I encountered.
While doing alignment & adjustment, I found that the tension was not properly set due to the blade tension scale not being properly adjusted. The left to right adjustments of the bearings was not an issue, but the upper bearing front to back was way off. After completing alignment I used the 5/8" blade and it did fine. I put the 1/4" blade back on...it is dull, I guess, as it did not do well (scorched wood, did not want to turn to follow line, etc.). I put on my 1/4" 14 tpi and it cut just fine.
I am guessing PO tried to use the band saw with the bad adjustments and dulled the blade. If I recall correctly, PO said he had put on cool blocks, but was still disappointed with it. I will order another and try my hand at sharpening while I wait. Will a heat damaged blade sharpen?

But I did put the table back to square and noted that the auto stop adjustment had not been set (was backed out of the way), so while blade tension was properly set, that may be about it. On the first cut, I initially had a lot of squeal that went way down with use (I don't know if I adjusted my feed rate or why it diminished). Anyway, alignment and adjustment are in the saw's future.

I think you will find that you can sharpen it, but it won't last very long. Like knot as long as what it took to sharpen it.saminmn wrote:Will a heat damaged blade sharpen?
SS 500(09/1980), DC3300, jointer, bandsaw, belt sander, Strip Sander, drum sanders,molder, dado, biscuit joiner, universal lathe tool rest, Oneway talon chuck, router bits & chucks and a De Walt 735 planer,a #5,#6, block planes. ALL in a 100 square foot shop.
