I did it a little at a time freehand on the belt sander. I did a little at a time (to keep heat down) and continually check the fit in the miter slot. It took about 15 minutes and it fits and works like a charm.

Thanks for info. That sounds like what I was thinking. What grit paper did you use?

80 grit. Just take it easy.
