I think we have a teminology problem here or at least I'm confused. From what I remember when Part # 555626 came out they were called offset mounting tubes. Which makes sense since the offset the SPT.

The mounting tubes that come on the bandsaw # 5137779 are correctly called eccentric mounting tubes. They are eccentric because the centers of the two sections of the tube are at slightly different axis enableing you by rotating the tubes to make slight adjustments to the mounting placement of the Bandsaw to align it's drive hub with the SS powerhead drive hub.

The offset tubes #555626 were brought out when the new aluminum table was added to the Bandsaw. Without them I'm told it is impossible to move the SS into vertical mode unless the Bandsaw is removed.

Ed! I agree! Unfortunately SS refers to the 'offset bandsaw mounting' as eccentric tubes. I can see either term is appropriate. The eccentric tubes allow the spt to be offset. Life WAS much simpler when the normal mounting tubes WERE straight!

Responding: I have not experienced a spring board effect. It should be noted that I seldom if ever cut a board over 24" on the bandsaw, so I am able to maintain pressure using the plastic pressure block and a pushstick.

To raise the SS for a drill press, I only have to remove the bandsaw fence, as the handle gets in the way. The waytubes just clear the table on the way up...fractionally. Yes there is a little play in the bandsaw base assembly, but I have not found the vibrations of operation to affect the stability of the bandsaw platform. Guess I've been lucky, based on the many responses.

Noting from the pix, you HAVE the 'aledged spring board eccentric tubes'.
