i seem to remember someone making a jig for the interlocking logs for children---i have tried a search but no luck (maybe i was dreaming) i have the SS plans but any help to speed the process would be greatly appreciated (grandson needs a really big set)

Yeah, but you don't have to make 'em round. As you will see, there are nice looking logs that are almost square. To get this you can use a 1/8" roundover bit.

Hereis a link to the jigs I made.

Those are the jigs I used when I made this log setfor my grandson.

I remember seeing one in a router book by Patrick Spielman. Would that be the one you remember?
It facilitated the interlocking cuts in the round logs.

Brand x, Brand y, round, square(and textured).


It is just that my distant memories included few encounters with the 'frontier' and were mostly with the 'dowels'.!

IMHO the textured square ones looked more 'rustic'.
