What did I do - new shopsmith owner

I am the proud owner of a Shopsmith ER . I have all the tools that I need already, so I'm probably looking to sell it. The question is, what is it worth? Its in good overall shape, it was stored well, no real rust.
It has the standard attachments, table saw, drill press chuck, lathe spur & live center, sanding disk. Also has the jig saw attachment & table insert. Has about 3 packages of sanding disks as well. The only thing I didn't get was the lathe tool rest, I saw it on one of the tool wagons, and it got sold & left before the shopsmith sold. Came on a self built table. Looks all original except the power cord has been replaced with a modern cord.

Welcome to the addiction, uhm, I mean club.

There are some internet groups dedicated to just the 10ER. The members of these sites love building, restoring, and doing woodwork on these machines.
I'm sure there is someone out there who can either help you get the 10ER running like new, or let you know what you can sell it for by posting some photos so the condition will be known. What you can sell it for depends on condition, accessories, your location in the country, etc.
Just do an internet search and some of the groups will pop-up. Just search for 'Shopsmith 10ER'.
If I would have been at that auction, I would have countered the auctioneers $50 price with an offer of $20. You could of then probably met in the middle with $25, and still walked away with the 10ER.
Good luck, and maybe with some cleaning and sprucing, you will be able to double your money. But don't be surprised that after spending some time with it, you will realize what a great machine it is, and you will find an honorable place for it in your shop for a long time to come.

Congratulations and a great buy. Don't underestimate the capabilities of those oldies and check out the yahoo 10er user group. Google and youtube has listings of sites with videos showing the machines including good instructional use and set-up.

Monetarily, not knowing anymore than what you posted, I'd estimate it's "worth" between $50 and $100.
As a useful, productive tool, and as a piece of American history... it's priceless.

I assume you are referring to the machines, not the 'members' of this forum!:D
