Child's toy that doesn't take expensive tools

No patents or copyrights as it is ancient. I suspect it came from upper Europe like Germany, Norway, Finland, Switzerland or somewhere in that region. There are other similar toys from that region. But, it's easy to make and every new parent needs a toy that makes noise without batteries. LOL
This toy is made from all poplar. Round ends are made from 1" X 6" cut on the bandsaw, then turned on the lathe. Sanded endgrain to make it smooth. Dowels are 3/8" dia. and 3.5" long. Could be 1/2" shorter. Holes in round ends are 3/8" dia. and 3/8" deep. Rounds are 1" dia. with 3/8" dia. holes reamed with Dremel sander to make it slide on the dowels.

The white one is for newest grand daughter. Was cutting it on circle jig and jig was not adequately secured. It pulled the wood in and made a smaller circle, so just made another the same size. All paint is approved water paint for children. Coated with lacquer and paste wax to make the rounds slide and fall. Hope to see yours soon.
