I just picked up a used 510, with the belt sander, "greenie" jointner, "greenie" scroll saw, also got a delta surface planner and band saw as part of an ebay package.

I took the headstock and one leg off, to make it all fit in the back of the wife's Jeep Grand Cherokee. It's really easy to move when disassabled. I don't think the wife and me could have moved a cabinet saw down to the basement by ourselves, +1 Shopsmith.

I attached a couple of pictures of the shopsmith in the Jeep to show you don't need a pickup truck to bring one home.

I just picked up a 510 off ebay as well and brought it home last night in my minivan. seats out made it super easy to move, unloading it by myself was hard though.

I've owned a shopsmith standalone scroll saw for over a year now, but just added the 510 + dc3300 and band saw to my collection!

sad fact: I got home too late with it to even get to plug the power in on it.

Spent the last few nights cleaning and waxing the 510. Did the preventative maintenance. Now I need to align the machine.

Steve - yes I think I have the "problem". All the various attachements are so tempting to buy.

Don't fight it. Let whatever will be just happen. Enjoy it for what it is.

I like how you titled the thread 'My First 510"...implying there will be more Welcome to the world of SS - I have four machines but have yet to find a 510/520 at an affordable price in my area...one of the dilemmas of living in a fairly remote and rural area...all the SS deals are always 5-6 hours away each direction...that also means the city dwelling masses are equally far away, so a trade off I'm willing to live with
