I am in the process of setting up my workshop. I am building a shelf above the shopsmith for all the accessories however I do not have a band saw yet but want to save room for it on the shelf. Can some one take a tape measure to theirs and let me know what the approximate space that I should save on my shelf.
Thanks

Mine measures:
12 inches wide
24 inches front to back
36 inches tall
Mine is an older band saw, so I don't know if the newer ones are the same or not...

gotta add some height for the mounting tubes. I think with the table flat, it's a bit more than 24" Know that doesn't help but will measure tomorrow.
Makes a big difference if you mount it flat side front or side front.
How are you mounting them?

How are you mounting them to the shelf ? That will make a difference in height needed. Are you using the shopsmith accessories mounts ?

This is how I mounted my bandsaw on the shop built "Special Purpose Tool Storage Rack" from
Shopsmith plans.
Just drilled some holes in the top and let it lean against the wall. When I getaroundtoit, I'll make the mounting holes more stable.

Thanks everyone. I have plenty of height. I am just planning to drill some holes in a 2x4 or 2x6 or two and mount that to a piece of 3/4 plywood as my shelf, that way I can move them around as I see fit. I will post pictures when it is done.

That is my homemade shavings collector for the jointer. Made it from one of vacuum attach nozzle and 1/4" hardboard.
Leaks a little because I could not form it to enclose the full opening but it works.
Have not drilled the holes to mount the jointer yet. Just need to getaroundtoit.

With the table and rip fence attached, which is normal, the bandsaw is 33 1/2" wide and 35 inches deep. I also have the expansion table that when retracted adds 1/2". Take off the rip fence and it's only 33 inches deep.
Agree with 36 inches tall. Add about 2 inches for the part of the support tubes that don't go into the hole.
