Found this in my cabinet, under a lot of stuff. I believe I bought it back in the 80s and I think it had something to do with cutting circles. Could someone please enlighten me and and tell me how it works and what it actually is.

It's a thing-a-majig for the whatca callit. A PIC wood be nice.

It is very similar if it is not the
Bandsaw Circle Cutter.

Tried it according to instructions. Don't see any benefit to it over drawing a circle with a compass and freehand cutting it. Has anybody used this thing with and benefit and success? As a matter of fact had a lot of difficulty with it. If anybody has used it with ease and success please let me know how and why it would be better than freehand circles. I think you would have to sand it anyway using the circle cutter.

I have the aluminum table as shown in the link furnished above. I am usually pretty intuitive but I think I followed instructions and it was a bear and I did not get good results. I'm hoping I did something wrong and someone can set me straight if not it seems as if it was a waste of money, whatever I paid for it way back when.
