Thought I'd say hi.
Been shopsmithing in NZ here for about 5 years and really enjoy it - mainly doing turning and small joinery - not many others with shopsmith - one that I know off but haven't met up with yet. - Autumn here but still nice weather - 22dec C.
Got 1960 model 500 in 'NCR tan' colour. with jointer and wobbly dado set. Had to get a few parts to get it up to spec and expect to get the rest of the double bearing quill set up tomorrow - it has arrived in the country.
I got the quill a couple of years back but of course that was just the start had to change from gimler to poly belt system etc. - scored an apron out of that one - they changed the script in the online advert after that. Nice to know that the folks at Shopsmith are listening. thankyou.
No support here in NZ of course so had a crash course in surfing the web for all things Shopsmith but it has been fun - got an Imac G3 in the workshop for handy browsing of PDF files - sweet.
Did anyone notice on page 21 of the S.S Spring Catalogue that there is an image "flipped" on the 35lb Lathe set up - thought the s.smith could go in reverse - but no only a flipped pic. - damn.
Anyway just a we note to say hi and I really love this forum - was in the yahoo ss.org for a while but this one seems more "on to it" - keep up the great work.
Regards to all

Glad you joined the forum. Didn't notice the flipped picture. I guess anyone can make a mistake.
