New Owner

Hi, I am new to the forums, as I just bought my Shopsmith mark V yesterday. I was looking for a shaper on craigslist, and I came up with a shopsmith as one of the hits. Up until Sunday, I hadn't known of their existence. Here are soe pictures of what i got. I have a few pieces of "furniture" to make and then hope to make cabinets for the kitchen. I have done a bit of woodworking over the years, but this will be an ambitious task. Ultimately, without going with a custom cabinet shop, i can't just order what i want. (well maybe I mean what my Wife wants)

Welcome to the forum Wodnek.
Looks like you'll need just a little cleanup, waxing, lubing and alignment. You'll be ready to go.

Looks in good condition, but a little pm now will pay off later.

Thankfully the second owner took good care of it. He walked me through how he waxed it, how to disassemble the headstock, etc. He also gave me touch up paint. He clearly took good care of it. Ultimately, a shaper is why i looked at this, but I always tried to justify acquiring a lathe. I am sure I will use most of the functions, with the exception of the table saw. I have two craftsman table saws, one from the 40s, and one from the 80s. I will keep an eye out on craigslist for another package, I wouldn't mind the bandsaw, duplicator, and biscuit joiner. no hurry t pay ebay prices.

I was there yesterday. Does anyone know if the cabinet set has everything you need to make the doors? Both the raised panel, and the frame?
