Hi folks, I have a pic of an arbor that was with the SS that my dad left me but wont seem to go on the shaft is this the arbor to attatch blades?

It looks like a saw blade arbor for a Mark V 500. When you say it won't go on, can you elaborate? Will it not tighten? Or you can't get it on the shaft? If so, did you try the other shafts just to make sure?

Get rid of the rust buildup. Evaporust works well on that size thingie.

Be advised the nut is a left hand thread.

Wow ok guys after looking more closely it does have rust build up, so this arbor works with any 10" blade?

Unlikely. The "normal" Shopsmith arbor is for a blade with a 1.25 inch bore. Most tablesaw blades have a 5/8 inch bore. Shopsmith does sell a 5/8 inch bore arbor. http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/cata ... arbors.htm

I would replace that arbor with one that accepts standard blade sizes. Looks to be the shopsmith specific blade arbor, and it also looks shot.
