Hello,
I have purchased a pallet of cabinate doors from a wholesale house.
These doors are beautiful(red oak and cherry wood)
I have about one hundred doors.
What I want to know is can I replace my cabinate doors with these?
Is it possiable to cut them down to fit ?
They are all bigger than my original doors.
How difficult is this and what tools do I need?
I think it is worth it because I only paid 50 dollars for all these doors .
If i have to purchace tools to do this it is still worth it and I'm in love with the wood.
My husband is pretty good carpenter.
Help!!!!

Can you post some pictures of the front and back of the doors. It is impossible to give you advise not knowing what type of doors you have now as well as what you are wanting to replace them with, so pictures of both would help.

Can you cut them down? Probably but as George said without knowing how the door are constructed it is impossible to advise you how to do it.

Another thing you may want to think about is if your existing cabinet is face frame construction. It might be easier to change the face frame to fit the new doors than to change the doors to fit the existing face frame. Building a new face frame is tons easier than building or modifing doors.

Send us pictures or detail explanations on how the doors are constructed and I'm sure the collective woodworking wisdom found on this forum will be able to come up with a solution.

Thank you for joining this group. As others have stated, we need more information. Do you know the difference between European style cabinets and face frame style cabinets? Pictures of your existing cabinets in addition to those of your new doors would be helpful:) .

I do not know how to put pictures in the e-mail but I will get a son over here to try to do so.
The "new " doors have a 2 1/2 in frame around them and one 2 1/2 inch slat in the middle.Like a picture frame. all red oak.
the drawer fronts just have the frame around them.
All these doors are much larger than the ones I'm replaceing.
my old doors are 27 years old and just out dated and worn out but I do not want to rip my kitchen apart to put in new cabinates.
Then its new counter top and back slash and on and on and expensive!
