This birdhouse is the first thing I made after getting my 510 last year. Hardly a masterpiece, and composed of 100% scrap wood, but it's gratifying for it to receive the official House Wren seal of approval.

Almost all of my projects these days are made from curb find, garage sale or otherwise discarded wood. but I prefer to call it repurposed material.

I admire your dedication to reusing throw-away and unwanted wood and other finds. I do the same. However, I don't like the term re-purposed. It is a word much like re-gifted, meaning just passed on because I don't want it and it takes the real meaning out of what it was and could have been or might still be. For example, "I'm dating a re-purposed woman (her lover dumped her after she got pregnant", "They re-purposed my job (I got fired because I'm too old, politically incorrect, not cool, make too much, etc."); "I'm re-purposing my dog because I don't really care about her and she is inconvenient - so take her." When you take my dog please take my kids; I'm re-purposing them also."

Why not say what you really did. You took a throw-away and made something worthwhile, good, maybe even beautiful rather than have it go to a landfill. That's what you did.

Hey, God did that for me. He didn't re-purpose me. He picked me off the curb before the trash truck came and kept me out of an eternal landfill as trash just rotting forever. He saved me for something better.

I cannot imagine thee not being politically correct!
