Don't pay no nevermind to the differing woods used on this piece, it will be distressed and made to look almost like it is 3 dimensional.

All wood came from, reused picture frames. Red oak predominately, lesser species of Fir and Poplar.

This cross will be offered to just a craft show or festival. 19 pieces and all but 3, were mitered, So therefore it took longer to build!

I can see that painted with a different color from the back to the front. It would appear to be coming at you, kinda 3 D. Nice!

Yes, painted. But the next one will be made with (if I can locate the wood) Dogwood. I also plan to add some sort of crushed red gemstones, to amplify and or signify, nail holes.

Maybe even add a few embedded LED's

This cross is all but complete.

The only thing left to do is, attaching a lauan backer board, to the backs side, to help marry the arms of the cross to the vertical.

It will also get a 2 inch grapevine wreath (to symbolize a crown of thorns), on the head of the cross.

Great work! That's a fine design and you could make many different ones to suit any tastes.

Oh the irony: I painted this cross, in these colors as I "just liked them" As it turns out (and this happens a lot, to me as of late) two of these colors were spoken by God, in Exodus 26:31
