Shopsmith Forums

Hi all new to woodworking, I have done a couple of small projects, workbench etc. I will be getting a ShopSmith V that was my brothers before he passed, but I am not sure what condition it is in. I know I used the table saw portion of it probably 10 years ago or so to cut laminate flooring, but other than that it has not been used. The past 6 or 7 years it has been in a storage locker. I know he had the ShopSmith V with the bandsaw, belt sander attachment, jointer, the lathe duplicator and I believe he has new in the box mods to transform it from a V to a VII. He also has the standalone planer. If anybody has any recommendations on how to go about verifying all components are working and/or any maintenance that needs to be done, I would appreciate the info. I do have the owners manual and the self study course he purchased with his ShopSmith, probably 30 years ago. Thanks for any info anyone can pass on to me.

You will have a wonderful workshop of power tools.

When you get ready to start using these tools. Don't be afraid to ask questions about the Mark V or the Special Purpose Tools (SPTs). I am also a newbie to both woodworking, the shopsmith and this forum.

The people here are fantastic! I doubt that you will stump them as I sure have not! And yes a lot of my questions have been answered just by searching.
