Giant Jenga

I made 14 more soap dish trivets, they need Tung Oil and I took a 2x6 and cut it into 24 smaller pieces. I have two more 2x6's to do this to, tomorrow. So what will the smaller pieces of 2x6 be? Any guesses :D

This project is on hold until some of the left over moisture in the kiln dried wood from Lowes, gets sucked out with my dehumidifier. Then apply wood filler, to the rough areas and knots. Then apply a sanding sealer, sand it and then paint the end grain with white, black and gold. Jenga blocks must be super smooth (slick, if you will) for ease of sliding.

Please note: the Jenga blocks are now standing on end (like a wooden henge). More surface area, will be affected, this way. I only stacked them, for representation.

When stacked, the Jenga tower stands at 41 inches.

They received a coating of Tung Oil and tomorrow, they will get a coat of poly.

The giant Jenga, will NOT be finished as I HATE sanding. On the average, it takes about twice as long sanding as it does to cut the blocks!

The blocking will serve another purpose. As to what, I am unsure at this point. But it won't be Jenga :D

What are you using to do the sanding? I'm thinking that if you used a SS belt sander to clean up three orthagonal "reference" faces, you could then "joint" the three opposing faces with the conical disc sander. Quick, easy, accurate, no swirl marks, and decent dust collection.

I suppose that you'd still need to break the sharp corners. Maybe just bevel them to a 45 by tilting the belt sander table.
