Assemble my 1983 model 500

I just found Johnson wax after trying several stores. Now I am starting to assemble the SS. Seems like the quill lever and table raising lever interfere with lock levers. Obviously I have put something in the wrong place (s). Can anyone direct me to explicit instructions to arrange these parts? The vintage owners manual doesn't have quite enough detail.

"Normal"assembly provides very little room for fingers etc. between the handle knob and the traverse locks.

Well, the spindle lever strikes the table in the saw config. but it would be locked anyway so forget about that. However the lever to elevate the table strikes the lock lever to the right and also strikes the near post for the table. Could I have the wrong lever put in? The lever was missing when I bought the machine.

The hub is on backwards.

The lever should angle out away from those interferences.

Turn the pinon knob around so that the handle points outward. :)

[attachment=Just as you guys said. No more interference. BTW I didn't find this detail in the official manual or on line. Thanks again.

I am sorry to be so blunt but now that you have discovered the cause of your issue do you not feel just a bit embarrassed at not spotting the cause.
