I have a new to me shopsmith that I believe is from the early 80's. Appears to have some missing parts. I have a lot of questions.

How is the customer service support?
How do I find the model number of my unit.
I need parts for the lathe but not sure what to get.
I have a planet accessory I do not need. Is there a market to trade or sell?

CS is typically far better than most.

On the 'left' end of the headstock is a shiny vent plate. The model should be there.

Usual minimal lathe stuff includes a spur center, a dead tail stock center, the tailstock, a tool rest and some chisels.

Planer or jointer? Both have a weight issue with shipping, but are sold on e-bay. Craigs list eliminates the shipping issue.

Thanks for the quick feedback JPG. Don't see a model number but serial number is 151735. I don't know what a CD is.

Post your questions here. Add pictures if necessary to explain things. There are people here that have just about all the answers you might have.

Also, just spending some time on Shopsmith's site looking at documentation for the tools will be very imformative.

There are some new videos that will show you what you need for each model for each function.

Then look at the left side of that page and navigate to the various videos on each of the functions.

That JPG and John B and Dusty are some of your best friends and a few others here, they know there stuff to the point of argumentation.
I just cause trouble here, and can give WW tips.

I think JPG which has his own idea of the English language, meant CL, Craigs List,, not CS, but as I said, he has his own form of English, He needs to listen to Home Prairie Companion radio show, and learn to know what it is to be a English Major, or I gueuss to Major in English.

I interpreted "CS" as Customer Service
