Anyone out there tried casting their own pen blanks?

I've been toying with it for a few weeks and just wondered if anyone had had any major successes.

I have done it with very good results. I use both the pvc pipes to make my molds and also the rubber molds. similar to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBkpFExHb2o

I didn't follow his way, but those molds are nice, no drilling of blanks

I don't remember where I got my rubber molds or dye and resin from.

You will get great colors and all custom if you mix colors as you pour.

this show using the pvc pipe as a mold. great to keep adding your extra resin to. I used duct tape on the bottom.

As a matter of fact, my 3d printer was down from thanksgiving till just last week.

Had to replace z axis servo and the main motor control board.
