I received e-mail from Infinity cutting tools this morning. This item was of interest to me. I thought some of the members might be interested in these setup - sanding disks. They look to be well made with a tolerance of .002. The price is very good and the fact that you could put a different sanding grit on the two sides of the disk sounds good. It might just be another way of doing things but I must admit it sounds very good to me. I can see myself using this thing to set up my table saw and miter saw. I have the set up disk and I use it whenever I am performing a table alignment. It is a great reference surface (being used in lieu of a sanding disk or saw blade). I have not used these sanding disks because I have the Shopsmith models (flat and conical).

That said: I would like to call the membership's attention to the Infinity advertisement. Note how they handle their "out-of stock" at time of offer. No surprises here. Please, Shopsmith - take note.

Oh if only it were not hook/loop! Would be a source for MVII fisks(flat/conical).

I'm trying to interpret. Are you seeking a different source for adhesive disks??

Deleted a duplicate post that the system would not allow me to delete.

If you visit the site you will see the disk is just steel. You can buy the disk alone if you want. The hook and loop is a separate feature to stick to the bare disk that allows the use of their sandpaper disks in different grits.

Oh fudge! I misspelled disk. At least I only posted it once.

I do not like hoop/disk disks.

The MVII has a 10" sanding disk that is flat on one side and conical on the other.

10" sanding disk media are not commonly found.

BTW I did 'visit'.

Where are you looking for the sanding disks? My local Menards carries 8, 10 and 12 inch sanding disks (PSA and H&L), the only problem is finding them since they are not with the other sanding paper items. For some reason they keep them over by the table saws and compound miter saws. I have even seen a CMT 10" Set Up/Sanding disk with the saw blades a few times. I have also seen them advertised from Klingspor.

Yes I have not been looking too hard! Just nothing local!
