Pop up or lift top coffee table

I am planning a new project for a coffee table that can also work as a table at the couch.
Something along the lines of this
[ATTACH]5353[/ATTACH]
but with a homemade cantilever mechanism. (the mechanism shown goes for enough to make the table from good hardwood instead of pine)
If anyone is aware of any plans for something like this I would appreciate a bump in the right direction.

Hi, Mike! It looks like several of us are beginning on the same or similar project.
I got my plans from Woodsmith Magazine. The issue is Woodsmith #180 - page 20.
You can also buy plans from Rockler.

I gotta give this some thought for in my shop.
I have a workbench that sits parallel to the Mark V and about 2 1/2' away. If I put a top, that could be lifted like this, on the work bench it would double as a full length out feed table. Hmmm.

I have one of these hospital tables for an out-feed table but what you are talking about would have the added advantage of not requiring any extra floor space especially when you are not using it.

Note, I have to empty my table every time I want to use it. I'm not sure who sits all of that crap on there.

If anyone wants to buy one of those lift mechanisms from Rockler - Today - July 28th is the last day of their 15% off sale. 15% in this case comes to $28 and some change. That'll pay for shipping and some of the taxes!

Ah Charlie, that's my problem... I have a Rockler's just down the street from my subdivision. No shipping required, instant gratification...
I get in trouble every time I go there.
