A few years ago (2-3) I saw a home made blade storage unit for safely storing ShopSmith 10" saw blades with arbors attached. Is there any chance anyone remembers seeing this and have an idea where I might find at least a picture of same?

I recall seeing, on this forum, a thread, that included a post, that even had at least one picture, of the saw blade holder that you described. There may even have been plans with it. I just did a search through the forum and could not locate it. It may be in a thread that has a title unrelated to the blade rack. (A very good example of why new threads should be started when a new subject is introduced) If I remember correctly, it hangs on the wall with seperate slots for each blade that overlap each other, sort of like a bill holder or magazine rack. Too bad this forum doesn't have a search engine to look for stuff in itself.

If you take the time to go through every thread:eek: , I am sure that you will find it!:)

It is here on this forum. Finding it is the trick. I have and will continue to look. I even thought I remembered who posted but I can't find it.

Incidently, there is a search engine.

I just bought a magazine from LOWE'S: 'Best ever Tips, Jigs & Organizers'.
Page 61 has just the blade organizer you described including pictures and dimensions. It holds blades, arbors and table inserts. Looks very simple. 3 pieces of wood, some saw cuts, and a few dowels!

This was put out by the editors of Woodmagazine so it might be on their web site http://www.woodmagazine.com

Here's a pix of mine. It is the Shopsmith "Workbench on a Wall" plan. As you can see it easily holds 5ea. saw blades with arbors, 2ea disk sanders (one conical - one flat), a supply of sanding disks and a bunch of other stuff. There are little cleats to make sure the blades do not jump loose in an earthquake. The thing I like about it the most is - when I want to change blades, I get the new blade and can put the used one it its place. (No, I didn't build the workbench part of the plan.[ATTACH]363[/ATTACH]

This is the one that I was talking about. It can easily be sized to fit different amounts of blades and even your sanding disks too!

Yes I have posted it before but couldn't find it either. There is 1.5" between each blade holder. The wedge shaped side piece is 5" tall, 1&5/8" wide at the top and 1/8" wide at the bottom.
