I obtained a stand alone SS router table. It dates from early 1990s. The instruction book list routers that were compatible but I cannot find any of those.
Does any one have experience w/table re the correct router? :)

I have a Porter Cable 690 in mine. As I recall the listed routers have holes already drilled in the router plate. Otherwise, it is just a matter of drilling holes in the plate to match any other router's base. I believe SS recommends router motor be 3 hp or less. There is no "correct" router per se. If you don't have a router, you can usually find a deal on a router package with two bases (fixed and plunge. Mount the fixed base in the table and keep the plunge for freehand operations. Have fun with it!
