Unusual position for the power switch and 'designer' legs.

Think I like that switch position better than the oem position on mine.

I do prefer the switch location and the type of which. I have thought about doing something similar but have not; mostly because I have no way to properly cover the abandoned holes.

The legs are unusual. Why would anyone want to create those cutouts? It seems that doing so would reduce structural integrity. Maybe they are supports for three shelves.

The headstock appears to be squared off on the bottom but maybe that is just from the camera angle.

The color is not right either but maybe it has just been repainted.

Too bad we'll never know.

It looks to me to be a clone with a Shopsmith speed control dial...

Some of the clones had legs like that as well as that switch location.

The paint color looks to be the same as some of the Harbor Freight stuff as well as the earlier Grizzly stuff...

I think in the USA it was a Total Shop, Taiwan?
They were real big in 84 when I bought my first ShopSmith new.
As a matter of fact, I was think of getting a TotalShop cast iron table for it but never did.

The 500 table is heavy enough without being cast iron.

I also think it is heavy enough when lifting a 510 table!:(

It's probably a Multico. Made in the UK and still in business.

The Total Shop (TS) cast iron table is quite heavy. I use one on my modified drilling, tapping and milling Shopsmith 500. The miter gauge slot width is different and will not accept the Shopsmith miter gauge. I have the TS miter gauge extension if anyone has a need.
