Hi everyone
I was at home depot yesterday looking for a new saw blade. I noticed these... 2 blades for less than the price of one Freud. Do any of you have any experience with these? Is it worth the savings or should I just go with Freud?

Thanks
Geo

Well I'd say those are a throw away blade.

They might be throw aways but if they do the job for that price I think they could be worth it. You can do that 6 times before you have spent the price of one Freud.

The only way to know is buy one and try it.

those 2 packs drove me crazy. I switched to the red diablo blades. I seem to get horrible performance out of the "specials" or 2 packs, whatever. They will work in the short term though. But are certain to burn the wood in short order.

The gullet angle is not typical for a good cutting wood blade. The high tooth count and near perpendicular face angle would make me suspect that blade will work reasonably well in plywood, but not make a good multi-purpose blade.

Freud blades tend to work well and have a good life. Between the two, I'd be inclinde to buy the Freud.

I took a look at those blade while wasting time in Home Depot about a week ago and noticed that they were made in China but looked well made, especially for the price. I'd have bought a set if they would have had a rip blade and a cut off blade in the same package, rather than the two cut off blades. The Diablo blades are clearly of a better quality and made in Italy.

I bought a set in December when I was making cookbook holders for Christmas presents. It made nice smooth cuts and i was well satisfied with it. It beat the heck out of what I was using. I don't know how long they will last, but for the price, I thought it was a good deal.
