If you look at the third picture it appears to be missing from the end.
rpd 10er, rough shape, but it has a flexible shaft, speed changer, and lots of other accessories, and a lot of documents including a first edition Power Tool Woodworking for Everyone. https://www.kijiji.ca/v-power-tool/vernon/shop-smith-10er/1285872556

rpd JPG wroteA SS miter gauge would be a nice addition! A good deal none the less. That must be why they downgraded it to a Mark IV. ;)

It will probably be gone by the time he gets back there next month. I understand not wanting to return as I was happy to leave after my three months of training at Norfolk Naval Base, 2002.
jsburger A very nice 10ER speed changer on eBay. $160.99, that is about the going price. I say very nice because if you look at the sheaves it looks like it has VERY little use or none. The sheaves have absolutely no belt ware that you can see. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Shopsmith-131-2-Magna-10E-10ER-Speed-changer-Rare-Option-41U3-/152700320169?hash=item238da5f9a9:g:DwcAAOSwKkhZtw-h If I needed another one I would jump on this one.
jsburger JPG wroteA rare '8' speed version. Wow, you are right. I was so busy looking at the sheaves I didn't notice. I might have to get that one.
