I have noticed that before too, Not sure if Scott was referring to the 10ER funding the development of the Mark 5, or if he meant the the Mark 2 funded the development of the Mark VII. Either way the article is in error on that point. :)
chapmanruss I emailed Scott and he agreed that there are errors in his Mark 2 history. He will be updating that page in the near future as time allows. ...
rpd 10 ER in Colorado. $120 factory legs and casters, speed changer, jigsaw, shaper fence. Shows as pending, but I thought John (jsburger) would be interested, as it has the remanents of a Shopsmith decal on the backside, like his demonstrator unit has. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/2274400372825688/

jsburger A 10E S/N 1092 in Florida. $200. Worth the price for that early S/N. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Shopsmith-10E-Lathe-Router-Drill-press/202766408619?hash=item2f35d1dbab:g:qswAAOSwVoBc4UZG
chapmanruss 10E S/N 1092 in Florida has been for sale on eBay for some time now. You may be able to get the seller to go down in price but he does know it is one of the original 250 Model 10E made and sent out to West Coast Montgomery Ward Stores on November 15, 1947. It has been upgraded at some point to having a metal extension table instead of wood. It does appear to have the original Tailstock and Fence. It is missing or not showing in the pictures the Wood Extension Table, the Extension Bracket and the Top Bar. The Wood Table can easily be replaced and the Extension Bracket & Top Bar show up from time to time. Note: The original Top Bar between the wood and the Extension Bracket is thicker than the later Top Bar. It also included three screw holes to attach it directly to the Wood Table with wood screws besides the 2 flat head screws with nuts that attach the Wood Table, Top Bar and Extension Bracket together.

benush26 This a just a screen shot from a Facebook Marketplace post It shows a speed control and if you have a FB account, the other pictures show an assortment of tools and a jigsaw. The ad says they are located here in the Helena, MT area. Be well, Ben
BobCoates1953 Saw this on CL https://cnj.craigslist.org/tls/d/sayreville-shop-smith/6969345861.html in sayerville cnj First time posting one, hope ok.
chapmanruss The one listed in Bob's post above says SHOP SMITH 1955 model By what I can see that is about 5 years to late. The Model 10's were replaced by the Mark 5 in 1954. It is an early Model 10ER.
