Williams No, the lathe drive is just slid onto the arbor and clamped with a set screw onto the threads. The lathe drive doesn't fit on the spindle, and it looks like the arbor's threads were sacrificed at some point in the past as a workaround.
chapmanruss It sometimes takes a while to get one of these restored. When finally finished it is something that can be enjoyed for many, many years to come. I have had Shopsmith Model 10E serial number 1033 since May 2020 and still have not finished its restoration. One thing that can slow down a restoration besides having the time to do it is finding the correct replacement parts for damaged or missing ones. Admittedly something that slows me down is having other Shopsmith's to restore.
