sm91745 Can anything be done to this old saw to prevent kickbacks? I don’t see any place to attach a riving knife or a guard. I was offered it by a friend. Wanted to ask before I decline. Thank you
edma194 Do you have the model #? Ryobi produced a string of 10" table saws over the years and parts for some are available. However, the cost of replacement parts may exceed the value of the saw. I've seen similar Ryobi saws in better condition for sale for $50. That's not free, but a better deal if it has all the parts.
JoeSark If kickback is the only worry, board buddies that mount on the fence will take care of it. The riving knife would take more effort; probably making a zero clearance insert and adding a fixed riving knife to that. A guard would be another separate project.
rlkeeney You could make an insert with a splitter. Here is a video for making one. Microjig makes splitters for this but they are very proud of them. You might also find someone who could print a 3D version for you.
