Deleted Thread?

Nice...an entire thread was deleted today. A thread that I commented on earlier this morning asking for help. That thread was recently renamed to "New Forum". This thread had some useful information on it from Maurice regarding the new forum. For some reason, someone decided to delete that entire thread where we were discussing things that didn't map over correctly from the old forum to the new forum. Anyone know what happened to that thread and why it disappeared???

Yeah that's frustrating, whoever removed it I hope that was an accident. Im not a mod or admin so I cannot check or verify.

To answer your question from that thread, many of the ASCII issues are already in my doc. things like multi line breaks and incorrectly encoded characters (like & ). My CSS fixes some things, but many need a database regex sweep.

Thanks. I appreciate it. Yeah, whoever decided to delete that thread, if it was an accident just own up to it and say so and we will understand. IF it wasn't an accident and was intentional then why? IF they didn't like my post on that thread earlier today, they could have deleted my post, tell me to get off the forum and etc. Why punish those forum members who had posted on that thread by deleting the entire thread erasing their posts, especially since it was a helpful thread with information you had posted to help forum members with the new forum SW.

I am still able to see the "NEW FORUM" thread as of this posting. Yours is the last post I see from 6 hours ago. Since I made my original post, it was moved from Shopsmith News & Announcements to Community by sebastiangull for some reason unknown to me. There appears to be a post (5th one down from the start) added by Maurice that was something I posted in another topic, I believe the weekend before the changeover that was lost in the changeover. It is missing the pictures originally inserted into it. Things are improving as the days go by

Thanks. Can you post a link to that thread for me then? I tried searching for the thread and it doesn't come up. Since I posted on it earlier today it should show up as a recent post. My view is set to "Latest" on all discussions so the fact that I can see other recent threads at the top and the "New Forum" thread is missing is very strange.

chapmanruss FWIW, I don't see it here either. Are you a Moderator? Maybe it is a Mod thing.

Might be a bug. I had replied in the thread so I could find it from my notifications. When I then went to the "community" board, there it was. I then went ALL the way out and back in by clicking the "FORUM" button on the top of the main Shopsmith page. I could see the thread then, but it was greyed out so I don't think it would have been visible to someone not a moderator. I was offered the option to "restore" it, so I did. It's no longer greyed out so I think it should be there for you now.

On the old forum there was a moderator's log so we could see what actions had been done. If there's one on this iteration, I've not found it, so I can't see if deleting it was an intentional action.

Is it still missing for you? It shows up in the discussion list for me and I didn't spot anything unusual about it.

It is visible again. The Flarum SW allows Moderators to hide threads from users, i.e. this is an option. Someone hid it for most of yesterday, maybe by accident, but late afternoon it became visible again. Thanks.

P.S. Sorry for the large logo below. I will try to figure out how to fix that so it displays much smaller. How do we edit our bio?

Signatures can be edited in Profile Settings and scroll way down to the bottom to edit signature. A few signatures may need editing.

I first copied them over and that seemed to work except for size, so I made a second conversion stripping all the size setting (affecting around 58 accounts).

I see that signatures appear in posts now but I do not see anything in Settings that allowes me to edit my signature.

Click on your Username in the top right

In settings scroll all the way to the bottom and you can edit your signature

That does not show here. The last thing on the page is "Privacy" and the button to "Allow others to see when I am online". This is in both Firefox and Chrome.

Sorry about that, I'm learning Flarum too. I hadn't realized that after enabling signatures, I also have to grant permissions to edit them (default was only administrators).

It should work now.
