Re: Jigsaw
Gosh this post seemed to disappear and now is up front. I gave up on the jig saw and worked a deal of sorts with a local contractor and former student for two older scroll saws he was willing to part with. One is a Delta two speed with some surface rust (now clean) and a Skill variable speed. Both d...

I have one of the unidentified objects. I bought it from Sears a long time ago. It attaches to a grinder and is used to hold flat objects for sharpening. Screw driver blades, planer blades, flat turning chisels and on and on. I also use it with a truing tool to square up my wheels on the grinder and...

Junk
Dusty,
I get around 200 pieces of junk per day. I use Thunderbird which moves all but 4 to 6 to a junk folder which I dump to the trash each day. It seem to be part of visiting vrs. websites.

Oil
Why do you all look to the expensive types when transmission oil is all I have had in mine for some 20 yrs. It still runs fine. Much less expensive especially since a leaky transmission requires that I keep some around.

Oil
I have used transmission oil in mine for years with no ill effects. Biggest problem I have is forgetting to set tension after moving or making adjustments. Kinda tough on blades (read pretzel).

Blades
That is all I have ever used in mine. I have used both pinned and pin less (have to drive the pins out). Last year I did have to put a helicoil in the lower holder. I suppose too many times loosening and tightening. Two years ago I replaced seals and bearings. I consider it equal to many of the more...

Sycamore
Acer is the genus for maple. Platanus is the genus for sycamore. Very different.
