Re: What is the hole in the top of the model 500 rip fence for?

So after thinking about the issues that JPG and the following comments brought up, I set the cup center back into the fence and tried to measure the wobble when the center was loose in the hole. It looks like about 1/8 of an inch or a bit more in all directions. With the set screw tightened, the ...

Trying to use a Bandsaw in the place of the Jig Saw would not work due to the orientation of the blade to the Mark 5. Circles can be cut on the Bandsaw with the Aluminum Table, Table Extension and Circle Cutter but there is a much smaller size limitation for that operation.

Also, if I recall correctly, you can set the fence on the auxiliary table and place the lathe tailstock center in that hole. You can then lower the auxiliary table and use the tailstock center as a pivot for cutting a circle or a circular arc with the table saw.

??? The lathe tail stock center ...

Re: Starting Shopsmith journey, with questions.

To get the jointer blades out you need an Apex holder and a short hex bit. The screws get very tight from use. It is not always a matter of corrosion. The SS L shaped and T handle hex keys have too much flex in them and don't apply enough torque to break the screws loose. I could not get the screws ...

Re: Does anyone have pictures of the Greenie lamp?

Never had one in hand, but IIUC a mounting bracket came with it which allows easy movement from tool to tool (with additional mounting brackets).

Yes, that is the one I mentioned above. You could buy extra machine side brackets for multiple tools. As I remember that came out well beyond the ...
