Re: Cutting angled box sides
Hey Garys , Yep, that’s the plan. You’re right. I realized after I sent that the tablesaw wouldn’t span the full width of the side, but since it’s a small amount to take off, going to nothing at the blade height, I figured it shouldn’t matter. I’ll still need a fair amount of planing/sanding either ...

Cutting angled box sides
Hey all, I’m making a couple of jewelry type boxes with removable sliding trays and a secret compartment in the bottom. See the picture attached. One's made of walnut (1/2” thick sides) and the other’s cherry (3/4” thick). 14” long by 7” wide by 5” high. I’ve decided the cherry box sides are too thi...

Re: New 5/8” arbor too short?
Never mind. I didn’t know or had forgotten that Shopsmith had, along with all the other changes 500 to 510, they added a slightly longer quill length, and had ordered the wrong arbor size. Problem solved.

I would highly recommend you check out the My Growth Rings Youtube videos. Scott Markwood has some great ideas for using the T-nuts with jigs.

New 5/8” arbor too short?
Hey all, I just purchased and received a new 5/8” sawblade arbor off Ebay and when I put a blade in and mounted it on my SS, it immediately started rubbing the saw guard. So I measured it against my old 1&1/4” SS arbor and there’s a 1/8” length difference, the SS arbor being 1&5/8” from the ...

Re: German child's chair copies
Here’s a look at the new copies. Apologies for the upside downness. Haven’t figured out how to work pics with my IPad.

German child's chair copies
Hello all, A friend of mine asked me recently if I could make a couple of copies of a small chair that had been made originally by her grandfather back in pre-WW II Germany. I’ve added a pic of the original chair. To make them, I used the Shopsmith saw mode, vertical and horizontal modes to drill an...

Re: Trouble with Trunnions
I’m getting both parts of the base, the bottom, and the base arm. I thought about looking for just the arm section. Glad I didn’t. Looks like it should be here tomorrow or Friday.

Re: Trouble with Trunnions
Okay, Well the problem is apparently solved, at least for now. Switching the trunnions front to back worked. I hadn’t seen Dusty's first(?) post about it when I went out, picked up the framework minus the table, and one trunnion swiveled around and just about fell off in my hand. Quite a nice surpri...

Re: Trouble with Trunnions
And apologies. In my first post when I talked about the 90 degree stop button, I meant the center (0 degree) level table point. Sorry for the confusion.
