This is on a jointer, not the headstock. Sorry if I wasn't clear on that.

I'd really like to know what kind of paint was originally used, so I can paint everything I own with it. This stuff is unbelievable.

Probably not. According to my welder, the whole thing has to go into an oven to pre-heat the iron so it doesn't crack more.

I'm not sure exactly what kind of paint that SS used in the early 60's (gold), but it is some outstanding stuff. SS will send you xerox copies if you call and ask them nicely. You could also use the manual for the 10er jointer.. it's more-or-less the same thing. The router with a circle cutter is probably your best bet.

Is this something you can make in 2 pieces? cut the hole in one, and glue another piece to it?
