It appears to be already broken. First photo shows a broken pulley and the third appears to show a crack in the tie bar

JS We had virus protection on both computers. My wife clicked on the info and her computer was infected, mine is OK. It was disguised as a Microsoft and had a microsoft logo so she clicked. Just as an added thought my cylinder is for the conventional headstock but performs acceptably with the Power Pro headstock. I am suddenly realizing that the older I get the longer it takes to recover from an injury.

Dusty The compressed and extended length can be determined easily by measurement if you have one installed. I do know that the "force" is very high. When I had mine off there was no way that I could put enough pressure to compress the cylinder one little bit. Just look at the geometry of t...
