Re: Wax,oil,grease, what lubricant?

I still prefer Johnsons paste wax in the yellow can with the red stripe on it. I was running out and was concerned about the future availability of it because Johnson was going to remove it from the market place. Re: Chisels

Try the AAW website and look up their beginning section for woodturning. They have very good instructions on their site. https://www.woodturner.org/default.aspx

Re: Turning Peppermills

Look to Penn State Woodturning for pepper mill kits. They are presumed leaders for that sort of thing
They also have all the accessories that you will need

Re: Urethane Bandsaw tires

A friend of mine asked me to help him install urethane tires on his bandsaw and when I tried to stretch them on to the rims they both broke. They would not stretch enough to get them over the rims. I was going to get a set for my bandsaw but opted for the rubber tires instead. Glad I did. In my mind...

Re: Sharpening Guide

I have gone through many variations of sharpening guides and was never satisfied with any of them including the Shopsmith one. I finally settled on a Rikon slow speed grinder with the Wolverine sharpening system mounted on a tool cabinet from Harbor Freight Tools. Keeps the tools organized and clean...

Re: What is JPW

I have an older Craftsman cast iron drill press that was last in the Sears catalog about 1960. When I clean it I put the wax on with some 0000 steel wool and then wipe it with a paper towel. The towel is black when I wipe the wax off. I let the wax dry and wax again in the normal manner. The tables ...
