Thanks for the history lesson, amazing what you folks know. . Did get the "upgrade" kit... and was very surprised at the bog difference in "width" of the new vs the old... Have not installed the kit yet,, as life's priorities have moved recreation to the back burner -- for now ! ...

found it,,,
the attached parts layout shows how the roller bearing on my old 1983 saw really are... the slotted screw with c-clips on both sides of the bearing.
found this is a Magna model 630 manual. Anyone know the year Magna became Shopsmith ?

And,,,, I am still puzzled by the "shoulder screws"..54,61,105. in my exploded view, the head appears to be larger than the screw shoulder or diameter, and also does not show a c-clip and washer on the head end. and are they 1/4 20's ? . on my 505641, the bearing slips off the screw head e...
