I really like this idea, I have been thinking about adding a version like this to my MFT table for quick use and then also using the MFT table's fence or dog holes for the back fencing.

It does look to be BW, what is the weight, does it seem more dense / heavy then normal hardwood?

Have you looked into the Lack boxes that were designed for the Prusa printers? You take an Ikea Lack coffee end table and using 3D printed parts and acrylic turn it into a pretty functional print box.
