Re: Garage shelving from cattle panels

Ed: Thanks - I promised not to spend a lot on materials while I learn woodworking and 'free metal' had my number. Also any new lumber was from the 70% off pile at Home Depot. I made each panel in 2 foot sections with just glue and pipe clamps. I then used glue and dowels to join the two foot parts t...

I wanted to create some kind of four-tiered garage shelving and these provided a skeletal frame...

Re: Best Xmas gift - Magna Air Compressor (plus question)

Ed: Thanks for your feedback, and explanations. You've also solved a longstanding issue for me: I have the same portable sand blaster and suffered repeat clogging while using it. T'was the long hose killer all along! Thanks for that, seems so obvious. Next time I'll use a shorter one. Incredible dea...

Trying out the flexible shaft on my 10er

This was a banner Xmas - I received both a free (and partially rusty) barbell weight set from my neighbors, and a shopsmith flexible shaft purchased through eBay from my wife. So to combine the two I placed the rather large wire wheel I got with my 10er and made short work of the rust on the weight ...

Re: Best Xmas gift - Magna Air Compressor (plus question)

Noted. I'll stick with spray painting for this one and keep my Central Pneumatic 150 PSI for low-level bead blasting.

Best Xmas gift - Magna Air Compressor (plus question)

I just unpacked one of the greatest surprise Xmas gifts I've ever received - a 1955 Magna Air Compressor. AirCompressor.JPG I read up on it previously in the link below: https://forum.shopsmith.com/viewtopic.php?p=303753&hilit=compressor#p303753 as well as Chapmanruss' excellent deep dive into S...

Russ:

I think that's a good lesson for me to leave unrusted areas well enough alone. Good luck with your move, may the summer weather be kind.
