That makes perfect sense. I can't wait to try it out. I've got to remove all the rust and want for my bits to arrive but am excited about the find.

Thank you for the information. Mine is definitely the middle one because it doesn't have the hold down nut. I can't quite figure out how the hold down would work without this. In the pictures, it just looks like it's sitting on the workpiece. I'll have to play around with it

I have a shopsmith Mark V. I came across 2 parts I can't identify. Are they shopsmith parts? If so, what are they for?
