Re: Heritical Table Saw Question
Hey Chris, I see a trad bench and a collection of hand planes in the background of your shop. Cool! So if you were to add a router wing into the combination, which side would you put it on? Would your fence get double duty (would you have to build out some kind of split fence to accommodate the rout...

Re: What have you purchased from Shopsmith recently?
I ordered the bearing upgrade for my squalling bandsaw. Came quick. Trying to find time to get back into the shop and quieten that beast down.

Re: Heritical Table Saw Question
Hey, RFGuy...at least you can spell "heretic".... obviously I can't! Roy, thanks for pointing out the Paulk video. I think all this good conversation is just confirming that I need to double my 512 sqft workspace (I'm seriously planning for that), and within that space make three focal are...

Re: Heritical Table Saw Question
Ed, thank you for your advice. You're giving a bit more hope that the effort to build a multifunction cabinet around the Delta 36-725 might not be a waste of effort. Acquiring a ShopSmith has opened my perspective to the world of tool maintenance. Before I've always held the discard-and-replace ment...

Re: Heritical Table Saw Question
Yes, I had to quickly wipe the drool off one of those at the local hardwood and import lumber stores before the salesman noticed. Don't think I can afford one anytime soon. I also don't think I can justify the lack of any ROI--who am I kidding...I don't sell anything, so my hobby is a just a hole to...

Heritical Table Saw Question
This question may get me banished from the ShopSmith community, but... If I were to look for a solid (rigid), large-top, dedicated table saw that has the maintainability and affordability of a ShopSmith Mark V, what should I look for? I've thought about removing the legs from my Delta 36-725t1 and e...

Re: JessEm Flex Stock Guides
What's the difference between the Jessem guides and similar-looking gizmos on Amazon? Asking because I've never seen either up close.

Re: Stop Collars - the accessory I should have bought years ago
In a pinch you can make a stop collar from a 1/2" long piece of PVC pipe and a band clamp. If you took two of these improvised stop collars, but cut from one scrap of PVC at a sight angle, would you have an adjustable stop collar? And with this discussion, I'm realizing I missed a free shippin...

Re: Should we be concerned?
I clearly remember when Big Blue sold long-haul network gear. Had a full inventory awaiting deployment when they dropped the product line. The company with a bridge logo offered us a generous buy-back. My point is that Blue still exists, but with different products.

Re: First bowl on the Mk V
I'm not even up to newbie level when it comes to lathe turning, so this is a really dumb question: does "Directional Tightening" mean right-handed vs left-handed threading of the chuck onto the SS adapter? Wouldn't counter-clockwise create a risk for loosening the chuck? Speaking of risks,...
