Re: Why would a SM Mark 7 bog during operation?

Kevin,
Drive belt slipping? I have seen reports of the motor pulley set screw loosening, so check that and the drive belt tension.

Re: Dragged out a shopsmith

I would be cautious about recommending paste floor wax. Many now have abrasives added for a non-slip finish, and this is not what you want to use on your Shopsmith.

Re: Electric Speed Control

Did you read the note in the description? NOTE: Will not work with soft start or variable speed routers. Will not work with "AC capacitor start induction" type motors.

Re: 520 RAIL THUMBSCREW SIZE?

On my jointmatic, the knob threads into a brass insert molded into the slide. The gib is just a flat piece of steel, about 1/16 x 11/32 x ?. I would need to disassemble it to see how long the gib is, but it is at least 1/8" from the top of the slot. I don't think the size is critical, just some...

Re: Foot activated ON/OFF switch - Good idea or safety hazard?

If this is the foot switch that Shopsmith sold, I believe that was intended to turn on the shop vac (dust collector). It is not heavy duty enough to operate the Mark V.
