Re: Repairing Quill Spring
I caught the washer through the inspection cover on the back side of the headstock. I put my hand in and caught it, was easy for me. When installing after I repaired the spring, I pushed the bushing for the retractor shaft against washer and inserted the shaft through both. I'm not positive if that...

Re: Repairing Quill Spring
... Understand where and be aware of the location of the Cone Washer on the retractor shaft, be prepared to catch it when removing the shaft. The quill feed has a number of washers on both ends that have to go back in the right order and sometimes even the right orientation, so keep careful track o...

Going through that link also showed the other question about the mystery spring on the rack lock shaft. Not on your machine. When the weather get where I'm not blasting through propane, your teardown thread going to be USED!!

Pictures please, Mark VII safety latch
Realized the Mark VII I just recently purchased didn't come with vertical position Safety Latches. Pictures in the manual are too far away and grainy. Could someone who owns a Mark VII please take a couple pictures of the Latches and lock points on the carriage, so I can look to retrofit Safety Latc...

Mark VII Mystery spring Rack Advance
I'm continuing my cleanup and learning curve with the Mark VII I purchased. I was cleaning and trying to figure out why the Rack Advance was so stiff, after cleaning out all the debris and slime it worked much better but I was hearing a clicking/pinging sound. I located the sound as a spring binding...

Re: Mark VII Repair questions
You need to replace your bandsaw tires why, exactly? I have an older cast-iron table bandsaw, with original rubber tires, and they still work great. There are lots of posts here about SS orange urethane replacement tire problems. And lots of positive posts about blue aftermarket urethane tires. The...
