It seems that being the mounting slots in the incra miter gauge are elongated, you could mount the adapter off the table. That should give clearance and alignment for anything you need to mount.

I purchesed my 505 brand new in 2004. It is the 50 year anniversary model so it couldn't be from the 50's, 60's, or 70's. IT is a 510 with out the floating tables. If yours was a demo model it probably saw alot of abuse and was reconditioned.

I too started out with 505. I bought it about 3 years ago. The only difference between it and a 510 is you don't have the floating tables, connector tubes or telescoping legs. The rails are the same. So when you upgrade (and you will) to a 510 or a 520 (that's the one I chose & love it) the upgr...

All good advice, but it doesn't matter if you have a $100 saw blade and your table and fence are perfectly aligned if the edge of the lumber you are cutting isn't jointed perfectly straight and true. If there's any curve to it, it's going to curve along the fence and bind against the blade. And cons...
