Re: Powerpro gen 2 Quill Feed Pinion Tight
Here’s an update - could help someone else out in the future: I got to thinking about this issue a little more. I took the quill assembly and the quill feed pinion out again for probably the 5th time. Once you do this once it’s really pretty easy to disassemble and reassemble. The problem was actual...

Re: Powerpro gen 2 Quill Feed Pinion Tight
I think David is on to something with the two bored holes on either end of the quill feed pinion being slightly out of alignment. Maybe it happens through normal wear and tear? A sudden or slight jolt? I reassembled everything and it works “good enough” for hobbyist woodworking. It’s still slightly ...

Powerpro gen 2 Quill Feed Pinion Tight
I converted to the Powerpro Gen 2 over a year with no concerns from my original Mark 7 that is about 5 years old. Lately my quill has become very tight to where it has a hard time retracting. I took the quill off and found that the quill feed pinion rod seemed to be the culprit as it was still tight...

Re: PowerPro lock code question
In using my machine today I fat-fingered the Gen 2 keypad while trying to do a normal operation and somehow I am now locked out. Will contact customer service tomorrow to see about a back door code.
Anyone else have issues fat-fingering the keypad?

Re: Scrollsawing - need your opinions
I ended up purchasing the Jet 22” scroll saw with foot pedal and table. Got through Woodcraft in a Black Friday sale for 20% off.
It’s really nice. Couldn’t be happier!

Re: ShopSmith Future Direction
I appreciate the feedback. It appears clear that the answers to my initial questions are “I don’t know.” Maybe that is ok, but I kind of think it’s more of a concern. I don’t expect to necessarily get answers to my questions from ShopSmith. I do hope by our responses it gives them something to think...

ShopSmith Future Direction
It’s been a few months since Mr Cupps has taken ownership of the company. I’m sure he’s learned a great deal (both good and bad) and is beginning to formulate future direction for the company. What do you all think is the best way to keep this forum informed? Another Scott M type video? More meeting...

Scrollsawing - need your opinions
I have a SS bandsaw (really like it) that I purchased as a package option when I bought my Mark 7. I’ve done miscellaneous projects with it thus far. I’m getting kind of interested in more detailed crafting and am thinking a scroll saw might be a good option for me now. In reviewing options there ar...
