Re: way tubes

All I have looked at on you tube says that the amount movement is supposed to be 1/8 inch when measured by a Stright edge to set the height of the jointer blade. If I am wrong.....please let me know the correct height.

Re: way tubes

Yes I am new to this forum. It was just confusing to receive advice that had nothing to do with my 1984 Mark 500. So now I have adjusted the knives on my jointer. I have put new tires on my band saw and repacked the upper bearing with super lube. A little more cleaning and waxing and I am ready to l...

Re: way tubes

The jointer needs to be adjusted to a cutting height of 1/8 inch and If i did not take the wedge and blade completely apart I would have never been able to adjust the jointer blades to 1/8 inch cutting height as they were bonded together for some reason. I now have the lathe, with the help of two ch...

Re: way tubes

Did not get the links to work................I have a really nice drill press so more than likely will never raise the smith to the upright position. I just sat there enjoying a brew saying to myself It cannot be anything but simple. I applied the K.I.S.S. principle (keep it simple stupid) and figur...

Re: way tubes

Now the end with the handle that it tightens the way tubes has two ribs but no built in stops. I was using one of the ribs as a stop. Boy was that wr...

Re: way tubes

Cutting spacers? If the Shopsmith needed spacers Shopsmith would have included them? Maybe their intentions were good but I have no idea where to cut the spacers from and where to install them. Just confused things. Nobody has a simple instructions on how to correctly put together a Shopsmith V ends...
