Re: Maintenance parts to buy (mothership concerns)

I'm involved, at this very moment, in validating my shop inventory and annotating it with today's fair market prices (as I see them). The end product will also show my cost when purchased.

Side Note: I'm in the process of updating my home owners insurance.

Re: Maintenance parts to buy (mothership concerns)

First be clear I consider other's opinions worthy of listening to regardless of whether I concur or not. That is how one broadens one's understanding. Now for the 'contraction'. We do not know if that is the case or not. Hopefully 'not'. Customer base population? Another area to guess about. For su...

Re: Maintenance parts to buy (mothership concerns)

"So, basically you are saying that there are no new ideas and that everything Shopsmith has done in the past is perfect?" No I never said that any thing was perfect and could not be improved. Extrapolation often leads one to unjustified conclusions. Note that just about all 'upgrades' are...

Re: Maintenance parts to buy (mothership concerns)

It is my opinion that a consensus can not be had in an on-line discussion. The available discussion methods are inherently confrontational. If we were all sitting around a round table, face to face, we could come to an agreement that some features should not be altered while still others could/shoul...

Re: Quill ranch

"Quill Ranch" - is there such a thing?

The OP got something in January but it is not clear what. It is also not clear just how long it took (5 months???). Maybe not. When did the OP determine what was wanted and when did it finally get ordered?

Re: 555937 Shopsmith Adjustable Stop Collar

I recently purchased two adjustable collars with scales. SS sent me two collars and ONE set of scales. When I wrote to customer service and asked where the other set of scales was, they said the bundle included two collars but only one set of scales. How ridiculous is that. I wrote back to them and...

Re: A view on alignment of the shopsmith.

I had to maintain some pressure of the left side of the main table to keep it from moving so as to allow only the infeed side to move when the infeed side stop collar was being adjusted. Other than that it all worked the way I envisioned. I didn't finish the concept proof because I am going to make ...
