Re: Vetting Shopsmith.com Membership

JPG wrote: Sun Apr 11, 2021 11:30 am The vetting only(AIUI) involves approval of an initial post. No limitation of access to other's posts(same as a guest). Once that initial post is 'approved', then free range.
I don't see it as a "free range" because any post, by any member can be deleted - can it not?

I an trying to understand what I believe I am seeing.

Re: Stimulus Check

Am I to understand that thy return filed LAST year is accessible on IRS.gov for perusal by thee? (Hopefully an exclusive access) I have never had a need for that 'feature'. Yes. Several past years (I think 6) can be viewed by simply registering at IRS.GOV. Username and Password established at first...

2019 income tax return still has not been posted on IRS.Gov.

YES - 2019

For 2020 I can see that IRS received my check but other than that 2020 is not posted either.

Re: Stimulus Check

Received notice (GetMyPayment) that it was scheduled to be deposited 4/7/2021. No sign of it yet. Calling the bank where it should have been deposited was a futile effort. IRS (irs.gov) sas no worry, it will come eventually.

2019 income tax return still has not been posted on IRS.Gov.

Re: More On Disappointed In MiterSet

The table needs to be braced with an extension table and tubes also. Angle AND length need to be right on for perfect fits of course For my needs I'm looking into a small adjustable sled just for my octagon pieces for my clocks If the source of the problem is in the SS, then wouldn't a sled require...

Re: More On Disappointed In MiterSet

I have just been told by someone whose opinions I normally respect that I am dead wrong. She says that "As long as all of the angles add up to 360° all is well". I don't believe that but time will tell.

Re: Intermittent Bandsaw Noise

In this post, from several years ago, BuckeyeDennis reported that he had found the squeal to be caused by lack of pre (side) loading on the bearings. https://forum.shopsmith.com/viewtopic.php?p=154110#p154110 I had not read this before. It sounds very plausible, if I understand correctly. I think t...

Re: More On Disappointed In MiterSet

I don't believe that two angles that add to 45°or anything other than 90°) are considered "complementary". I also do not believe that real success will be achieved just because of the sled. What happens if two pieces that were not cut together end up together in the frame? At least one joi...

Re: More On Disappointed In MiterSet

I've been gone for a bit with other items needing attention but I'm back trying to catch up I really think what I've found is that using the SS miter gauge alone to cut segments even as low number as 8 may be an exercise in futility. The table needs to be braced with an extension table and tubes al...
