Dang, yep, that's the right arbor. OK, I think you're right, I'll need to look at the whole assembly. Wild. Thank you so much for the pics and the answers, I really appreciate it. If I can figure it out, I'll let you know what was up.

I appreciate it! I originally thought it was the wrong arbor (and have a slightly shorter one on there to temporarily resolve it), but the riving knife insert is off now, so I think the arbor is right (it's 1 11/16" from base to blade)! In taking off the back panel, I did notice that the plate ...
